Rodrigo Pessoa élu président de l'IJRC

l'IJRC (International Jumping Riders Club) a tenu sa 30ème assemblée générale durant les Championnats d'Europe de Mannheim.
En cette occasion, succédant à Cayetano Martinez de Irujo qui ne se représentait pas, l'IJRC a désigné son nouveau Président pour une durée de de 7ans, Rodrigo Pessoa (BRA).
Ludger Beerbaum est lui élu vice-président et le Dr. Eleonora Moroni - Ottaviani (ITA-SUI) est nommée Sécrétaire. Les autres membres du Comité Directeur sont Michel Robert (FRA), Jeroen Dubbeldam (NED), Kevin Staut (FRA), Roberto Cristofoletti (ITA), Steve Guerdat (SUI), Jessica Kürten (IRE), Peter Wylde (USA).
Les "Auditeurs" sont François Mathy jr. (BEL) and Thomas Velin (DEN).
Markus Fuchs a quitté ce comité directeur et il y est remplacé par Kevin Staut .
Le discours pononcé par le nouveau président en cette occasion “Our association has certain standards and goals that it needs to uphold in order to succeed in the betterment of out sport. There are many aspects of our sport that have suffered from this lack of transparency between the FEI and our club. It is not only the riders who suffer from this inconsistency, the show organizers and horse owners will also pay a big price for the future that awaits show jumping. Fortunately, our future is not yet set in stone and there is still time and opportunity to make the necessary changes within the organizing bodies to bring show jumping on par with tennis or golf. Athletes need to play a larger role in raising the sport to the next level. As riders it is our responsibility to assume the same tasks as some of these athletes of other sports have done. It is only when we are at the table of the final decision that our vote counts. I must also say a very special thank to Cayetano, his work with the work of many others has made our club what it is today. I can only hope the Cayetano will stay on with the IJRC and continue to guide us with his valuable experience and expertise.”
